OCI Card — Benefits

OCI eligibility
You can apply for OCI if you were a citizen of India at any time on or after 26 January 1950, or you were eligible to become a citizen of India on that date, OR you are a child or grandchild of such a person — provided you are now a citizen of a country that allows dual citizenship in some form.
Pakistan and Bangladesh nationals are not eligible for OCI regardless of Indian origin. Once issued, the OCI card is valid for life (U-visa sticker needs renewal only until age 20, and once between 50–55).
