Cookie Policy

Last updated: 12 June 2026

HostyourBnB uses a minimal number of cookies — only what's needed to run the Platform securely and support you through chat. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They allow the website to remember information about your visit — such as whether you are logged in — so you don't have to re-enter it every time. Not all storage mechanisms are cookies: HostyourBnB also uses sessionStorage (cleared when you close the tab) and localStorage where appropriate. These are browser-side only and are never transmitted to our servers.

How we use cookies

HostyourBnB uses a minimal number of cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or analytics cookies that build a profile of your browsing behaviour. The cookies we set fall into two categories: 1. Strictly Necessary — required for the Platform to function (authentication, security). You cannot opt out of these without logging out. 2. Functional — improve your experience (chat session continuity). These are set by Crisp, our chat support provider.

Third-party cookies

Crisp (chat widget): When you use the chat widget, Crisp may set their own cookies to identify your session. Crisp's privacy policy is available at crisp.chat/privacy. Supabase (authentication): Supabase sets cookies as part of the secure session management system. Supabase is SOC 2 Type II certified. Details at supabase.com/privacy. We do not embed Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising network on this site.

Managing cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Here's how for common browsers: • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data • Firefox: Options → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data • Edge: Settings → Cookies and Site Permissions Note: deleting the authentication cookie (sb-*-auth-token) will log you out of HostyourBnB. You will need to sign in again. Blocking all cookies may prevent some features of the Platform from working correctly.
