This Privacy Policy explains how HostyourBnB collects, uses, and protects your personal information. By using HostyourBnB, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who we are
HostyourBnB is a marketplace platform that connects NRI property owners with Airbnb hosts in India. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. Contact: hello@HostyourBnB.com
2. What data we collect
When you create an account: • Name, email address, and profile photo (via Google OAuth — we never store your Google password) • Phone number and country of residence (collected during onboarding) • Your role: NRI property owner or Airbnb host When you list a property: • Property address (city, state, area, pincode) • Property photos (uploaded to secure cloud storage) • Rent, lease duration, and availability details When you use the platform: • Inquiry records (which properties you expressed interest in, and the status) • Saved (favourited) property IDs • Subscription status and payment history (once payment is enabled) Automatically collected: • Session cookies (for authentication — see Cookie Policy) • Browser type and device type (via Crisp chat widget) • IP address (standard server logs, retained for 30 days)
3. How we use your data
We use your data only for the following purposes: • To operate your account and authenticate your sessions • To display your listing to potential hosts, or show you properties as a host • To send transaction emails (inquiry notifications, acceptance confirmations) • To contact you about your account if required • To calculate subscription eligibility and enforce the paywall window • To improve the platform based on aggregated, anonymised usage patterns
4. Who we share your data with
We do not sell your data. We share data only as follows: • Supabase (our database and authentication provider) — processes your data on servers in the region you are based. Supabase is SOC 2 Type II certified. • Resend (email delivery) — receives recipient email addresses and the content of transactional emails we send. No marketing use. • Crisp (chat support) — receives your name and email for support sessions. When an inquiry is accepted: • The owner's phone number is shared with the host via email. • The host's name is shared with the owner on the inquiry card. No data is shared with advertisers, analytics companies, or brokers.
5. Data retention
• Account and profile data: retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time. • Property listings: retained until you delete them from your dashboard. • Inquiry records: retained for 24 months for dispute resolution purposes. • Server logs: retained for 30 days and then automatically deleted.
6. Your rights
You have the right to: • Access the data we hold about you • Correct inaccurate data • Request deletion of your account and associated data • Export your data in a machine-readable format • Withdraw consent at any time (where consent is the legal basis) To exercise any of these rights, email: hello@HostyourBnB.com. 7. Security
All data is encrypted at rest and in transit (TLS 1.2+). Authentication uses industry-standard OAuth 2.0 via Google and Supabase's session management. We do not store passwords. Property photos are stored in Supabase Storage with access controlled by Row Level Security policies.
8. Children
HostyourBnB is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has registered, contact us immediately.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the platform evolves. We will notify registered users by email of any material changes at least 14 days before they take effect.
